in North Idaho
Below are various local programs designed for children ages 6-12 years old. Be sure to check with each organization to ensure most current and accurate information.

Gizmo Makerspace
📍Coeur d'Alene, ID
Be prepared for INNOVATIVE HANDS ON LEARNING!
Exciting programs are coming soon! Keep an eye out for our Tinker Time after-school program for ages 8-12, where young makers can dive into creative exploration and collaborative learning. This unique hands-on experience lets students discover more about themselves as they experiment, build, and invent. Whether they’re budding scientists, artists, coders, or inventors, kids will have the chance to tinker with a variety of tools and materials—plastic, wood, cardboard, and more—to bring their ideas to life.

Continuing the legacy of our beloved Maker Tots program, Gizmo-CDA will now be offering Drill-Bits: a two week making program for young children with a special emphasis on direct experience with creating using machines and tools. Over the course of two two-hour sessions, children ages 4-6 and an accompanying parent or caregiver will complete hands-on projects organized around a particular theme.

Ski Idaho
📍Lookout Pass, Schweitzer, Silver Mountain, Snowhaven, & more!
How it Works:
Once applications are open, you will be able to submit your application from our registration page (or the button below), with the one-time $29 processing fee. We’ll e-mail you a passport that gives your 5th grader three free days at 17 locations, or your 6th grader two free days at 17 participating locations.
You can either print the passport and bring it with you or pull it up on your smartphone and present it at the ticket office. Either way, your kid’s skiing free. Of course, a parent or guardian must be present, and the passport must be shown at the resort in order to receive the lift ticket.
Participating ski hills reserve the right to limit passport use for ski racers, on race days and on any scheduled blackout dates that may apply. Check with your ski hill for full details.
Kootenai County Farmers Market
📍Coeur d'Alene, ID & Hayden, ID
(PoP Club) is a free program for children ages 5 to 12 designed to introduce children to healthy fruits, vegetables, and food-bearing plants. Children participating in the weekly club receive tokens to shop the market for fresh fruits, vegetables, and plants. The PoP Club booth offers hands-on activities designed to teach children how to grow and prepare their own food. The volunteer program runs June through Labor Day Weekend.
